Description

MC-Epo Prime S.T is a two-pack epoxy primer with a low solvent content.

Where to use

Anticorrosive primer for steel protection within epoxy coating systems. Tie coat for inorganic zinc-silicate primer.

Advantages

Good resistance to weather and climatic conditions. High adhesion to the substrate surface. Excellent corrosion resistance.

Application data

Apply by airless spray, brush or roller. Pot life at 20°C: 4 hours; reduced at higher temperature. Thinner / cleaner: MC-Thinner 02. Guiding airless pressure at nozzle: 1500-2100 psi. Nozzle tip: 0.018-0.023 in. Spray angle: 40°-75°.

Drying time

Substrate Surface dry Cured Minimum recoat 10°C 160 min 12 days 9 hours 25°C 70 min 7 days 5 hours 35°C 45 min 4 days 3 hours

Surface preparation

The surface must be free from oil and grease, clean and dry. For steel, blast clean to Sa 2½ according to the approved source. During application, substrate temperature should be at least 10°C and at least 3°C above the air dew point.

Recommended system

MC-Epo Prime S.T: 1 coat at 50 µm DFT. MC-Epo Paint H.B: 1 coat at 100 µm DFT. MC-Epo Paint Top Coat: 1 coat at 50 µm DFT.

Storage & handling

Keep containers tightly closed in a cool, dry place. Stir components thoroughly for 3-5 minutes before use.

Packaging

20 kg component A + 2.6 kg component B; or 5 kg component A + 0.65 kg component B.
