MC-Fiber

Synthetic Fiber Mesh-Reinforcement System

MC-Fiber is a Polypropylene Synthetic fiber mesh which is introduced in concrete shotcrete and plastering mixes to inhibit the formation of plastic shrinkage cracking ,this product meets the requirements of ASTM C 1116 and C 1399 .

Description

MC-Fiber is a polypropylene synthetic fiber mesh introduced into concrete, shotcrete and plastering mixes to inhibit plastic-shrinkage cracking. The source references ASTM C1116 and C1399.

Where to use

Roadways and highways. Shopping malls. Airport runways. Industrial plants.

Advantages

Inhibits plastic-shrinkage cracking and improves cohesiveness in concrete. Adds abrasion resistance and reduces permeability. Alkali-proof and improves durability. Simple to use with better impact and fatigue resistance. Resists bacterial growth and ultraviolet exposure, as stated by the source. Provides three-dimensional secondary reinforcement.

Technical data

Specific gravity 0.90 Absorption Zero Fiber length 12-30 mm Fiber thickness 0.0965 ± 10% mm Modulus of elasticity (Young's) 3600-3900 MPa Elongation 14-25% Tensile strength 550-600 MPa Thermal conductivity Low Minimum residual average strength 50 psi = 0.35 MPa Melting point 160°C

Technical data - continued

Ignition point 590°C Electrical conductivity Low Acid and salt resistance High Rate of use 0.90 kg/m³ of concrete

Method statement

MC-Fiber is added either to the dry components before mixing or to the already mixed paste in the mixer just before pouring. In both cases, a few minutes of mixing is enough to obtain good fiber dispersion.

Compatibility

MC-Fiber is compatible with the other concrete admixtures listed by the source.

Rate / consumption

The dosage rate of MC-Fiber is 0.90 kg/m³ of concrete.
