Water Proofing & Joint Sealants

MC-Master Foam

Backing filler for concrete Joints

Rubberized boards based on Ethyl Vinyl Acetate E.V.A. ready to use during and after construction .complies with ASTM D 1752-84 type 1

Description

Rubberized boards based on Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA), ready for use during and after construction. The source references ASTM D1752-84 Type 1.

Where to use

Used as back filler for construction joints. Used as backing filler for concrete joint sealants and as a secondary barrier for the joint sealant. Can be used as a temporary joint filler.

Advantages

Highly resistant to water absorption. Highly resistant to mild chemicals. Weather resistant. Highly elastic. High compression ratio, approximately 40-50% of total thickness. Temperature resistant from -40°C to +75°C. Compatible with different joint sealants, including polysulphide and polyurethane. Easy to apply. Available in different required thicknesses.

Technical data

Method statement

Construction joints: 1) Use MC-Master Foam as back filler through the joint depth, leaving the small removable part uppermost. 2) Cast concrete around the strips to surface level. 3) When the elastomeric joint sealant is to be applied, remove the small part and clean the joint. 4) Apply the elastomeric joint sealant in accordance with the sealant manufacturer's instructions. Expansion joints: 1) Clean the joint from loose particles. 2) Cut MC-Master Foam to the required dimensions with a sharp knife. 3) Force MC-Master Foam into the joint to the required depth. 4) Apply the elastomeric joint sealant as specified. MC-Master Foam can be supplied in light, medium and rigid categories and in job-specific dimensions.
