Description

MC-Water Stop is a flexible polyvinyl chloride (PVC) waterstop for construction and expansion joints in concrete structures. It is supplied in different profiles and sizes to suit joint type, concrete thickness and expected movement. The source references US Corps of Engineers CRD-C 572-74.

Where to use

Sealing construction and expansion joints in water-retaining and sewage structures. Preventing water passage through concrete structures. Selection of profile and width according to joint type, slab/wall thickness, expected movement and maximum aggregate size. Thermoplastic PVC construction allows heat-welding of strip ends using suitable welding equipment.

Advantages

High-quality flexible PVC. Easy to install and heat-weld. Suitable for high water pressure when the appropriate profile and size are selected. Multi-rib profiles improve sealing performance. Available in several profiles and widths for construction, expansion and contraction joints.

Welding and installation

MC-Water Stop is thermoplastic PVC and can be heat-welded. Secure the strip ends in a welding jig and heat them with suitable welding equipment until an even molten PVC bead appears. Remove the heating tool and press the ends together firmly to complete the joint. During concreting, keep the waterstop correctly positioned and prevent displacement or twisting.
